ILEP (The International Leadership in Education Program) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization. The International Leadership in Education Program will provide 52 teachers from the Near East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and increase their knowledge about the United States.
The International Leadership in Education Program will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, teaching strategies for their home environment, educational leadership, as well as the use of computers for Internet, word processing and as tools for teaching. The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2008 and conclude in June 2008, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students. Trips to U.S. cultural sites and academic support will be provided for participants throughout the program.
Eligible Applicants Must Be:
• Secondary-level, full-time teachers with five or more years of classroom disciplines including: English as a Foreign Language; Social Studies; Civics; Mathematics; Science.
• Citizens of the Republic of Indonesia
• Have English-language proficiency in written and spoken English with a minimum ITP TOEFL of 500
Applicants submit the original application and four complete copies (for a total of five copies). Each copy of the application should be submitted in the following order:

• Statement of purpose,
• Completed recommendation form and letter as weel as completed institution support form,
• A copy of your KTP or passport (or photo identification),and
• A copy of ITP TOEFL Score
Candidate should complete the 2008-2009 Application for The International Leadership in Education Program (ILEP) which could be requested from AMINEF by mail or in person at the following address:
