Program beasiswa German Industry Scholarships bukan merupakan beasiswa studi ke luar negeri, melainkan beasiswa untuk penyelesaian studi S1 di beberapa universitas di Indonesia yang menjadi mitra program ini.
Universitas-universitas tersebut adalah: Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Insitut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) dan Swiss German University (SGU).

Program beasiswa yang disponsori oleh perwakilan perusahaan Jerman di Indonesia dan “German Investment and Development Company” (DEG). President University was formulated in September 1997 by Mr. S.D. Darmono, the President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk. and Prof. Donald W. Watts, who was the President of Bond University, Queensland and Vice Chancellor of Curtin University, Western Australia, to start President University and initially offering only the Bachelor of Commerce degree. This idea was approved by the Founders of President University.

For Academic Year 2007-2008, 5 full scholarships are available based on the ranking from entrance examination.
Criteria for full scholarship candidate:
1. Fresh graduate of senior high school
2. Show a good academic record during high school (min. 75)
