De Montfort University’s Vice Chancellor is delighted to offer 43 scholarships of £1000 each to overseas students, for courses starting in September 2007. The scholarships are available for courses starting in September 2007 only (or between September 2007 and June 2008 for MPhil/PhD research degrees). The £1000 scholarship will be made as a one-off payment and will be deducted from the full tuition fee at the beginning of the first (or only) year of study.

The Embassy of Japan has begun offering scholarships to Indonesian students who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students for the academic year 2008 under the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) scholarship program. Any grantee who desires to enroll in a regular graduate course (a master’s course, a doctoral course or a professional graduate course) after studying as a research student or to move on from a master’s course or a professional graduate course to a doctoral course must pass an entrance examination given by the university concerned.

Technical University Munich have a position available for a Ph.D student as part of a project funded by the German Cancer Research Foundation (Deutsche Krebshilfe) to establish physiological animal models of human cancer. Applicants should hold a master`s degree, or equivalent in biology, molecular biotechnology or a related field. The position is funded for an initial period of three years and the salary will be according to BAT IIa/2.
